Theo is a character in transition. They are in-between growth and death. They are looking up to better things by first recognizing and releasing mistakes, failures, and negative self-imagery. Theo is a reflection of a Queer person realizing what pronouns makes them feel empowered. A Queer person choosing to believe life is bigger than their depression. A Queer person on the edge of coming into themselves but first they must unpack all the deactivating emotions that made them feel less then. Theo is an encouraging, empowering, nurturing, and a strong spirit that beckons the viewer to embrace all that they are only after they’ve grown through the pain.

Sly Isaiah (she/they) is a St. Louis born, Dallas-based Art Director working in advertising; but after hours, she’s a self-expressionist covering canvases in loud colors, captivating characters, and vivid narratives. Her acrylic painting based art explores her reality as a gender questioning, queer, Black woman through LGBTQ+ symbolism, queer joy and complex emotions as they journeys toward self-discovery, unconditional self-love, and unbridled expression.
