About The Artwork

Renowned artist Barbara Andrewjeski's ongoing series, 'Thoughts,' masterfully portrays the intricate evolution of mental states. Each piece resonates with genuine emotions tied to diverse cognitive conditions. Within the series, this artwork encapsulates Barbara's intermittent state of mind, focusing on the realm of memory. Through expertly arranged colors, the composition metaphorically embodies the complexity of thoughts, punctuated by poignant voids that mirror memory lapses. These intermittent gaps beautifully reflect the fleeting nature of memory, echoing the ebb and flow of cognitive abilities over time. Barbara's adept depiction captures the variability of these gaps from day to day, a reminder of memory's intricate journey. Amidst this, glimpses of clarity emerge, infusing positivity and hope into the complex narrative of aging and memory. This remarkable piece, carrying Barbara Andrewjeski's signature, is not only a visual marvel but also protected by UV-resistant archival varnish. Its reverse side is finished and equipped with hanging hardware for effortless, immediate display.

I have lived many lives. I have been a florist, a welfare caseworker, a counselor, a truck driver, a greenhouse manager, and wedding officiant. As I waved goodbye to all of those incarnations, three lives remain: wife, mother and grandmother. Throughout my various careers, I have expressed my creativity in many forms and periods. I have been an accomplished seamstress, crocheter, leather craftsman, kanzashi artist, and now, finally, fluid artist. I would like to think that all of these experiences have molded and shaped me, honoring my ability to open my heart and share and express my innermost thoughts and emotions. In this current incarnation of me, I have found the freedom to explore the artist inside me. I have come to admire and respect the artistic process. In each of my artworks, I invest a piece of myself. I feel passionately when I am in the process of artistic creation. Along the way, I visit and revisit the works of accomplished artists in order to learn from them: their techniques, style and process. I have come to know a passionate artist named Olga Soby. What I love about her is her fearless freedom to fully express herself in her art, yet also to willingly share her techniques with grace and charm. I hope I live long enough to come close to her ability to tease such profound beauty -- out of my own media.
