About The Artwork
I have always been fascinated by looking out of airplane windows, particularly over locations where land meets water. Flying over the St. Lawrence Seaway, in the Fall, on a flight from Europe to Canada, the colors and contrasts are amazing from the blue of the water in the late afternoon to the burnished red, gold, and orange colors of the trees, and patches of road. The Thousand Islands and even the reflections of airplanes below you are also visible. For me it is a Welcome Home sign.

I am a full-time artist mainly painting in oils and acrylics. Previously I worked for many years as a journalist and a photo-journalist. In the later years of my career in journalism my field of expertise was in politics, from municipal politics through regional to coverage of the Ontario Legislature. Other areas I specialized in were health, the environment and travel. I was also a newspaper photographer, and later worked on the books "A Day in the Life of Canada" and "A Day in the Life of Japan", serving as associate director of photography and assignment editor.
