About The Artwork

A monochromatic contemporary watercolor about the fantastic atmosphere in the North near the Baltic Sea. I always feel the landscape is talking to me through their colors and structures and I always try to listen. Here the structures are about water, rain, storm and grasses at the lakelike Bodden. It is important that we all start to listen to nature! I love the beautiful atmosphere in this painting but in a more abstract way it can also be seen as a metaphor for emotions and inner feelings. 29x39 cm whole sheet, part shown here is 25x35 cm, comes without mat and unframed. It is easy to mat as the sheet that comes is bigger than the painting shown here. Signed on the front and back. Certificate of Authenticity. Ink and pigment on heavy professional 300 g watercolor paper. (c) Gesa Reuter 2022, all rights reserved.

Based in Germany, Gesa Reuter’s artistic practice started in 1996. She has since studied the techniques of the old Dutch masters, layering selfmade gouache, egg tempera and sometimes oil to build her paintings with different layers of paint from thin to thick. Recently she has discovered the power of watercolours and ink in her work, enjoying the way the watery materials leave marks and traces to describe her inner feelings and emotions. Rather than painting an accurate visual representation of a landscape, she prefers to use the power of memory; her artworks are an expression of her feelings and emotions in the moment of experiencing the landscape." (Inside Artists, Issue 9, Summer 2017) So far, her works have been exhibited in Germany and Europe, mainly sold to private collectors in Germany, U.S.A., UK, NL, New Zealand, Saudi Arabia, to architects, small companies, private medical and psychological practices. In public collection of Amateras Foundation, Bulgaria, NHS England and Kunsthaus Stove, Germany.
