Era da qualche tempo che mi ronzava nella testa di dipingere una Tigre. Cosi alla buona, senza troppi studi sulla forma, di getto. Volevo cavalcare la stessa libertà di Ligabue (il pittore) mantenendo quel senso di mistero che in Rousseau mi piace da matti. Così ho preso una tela, un pennarello e ho disegnato qualcosa con gli artigli... fino a che in quella forma strana non ci ho visto una tigre.
