Time Curiosity Painting

This painting is part of an exhibition called Chronometry, the science of the measurement of time or time keeping. Time confounds and eludes me when I start to think about it. I am a master of misunderstanding what can be done or organized by myself in a specific amount of time. Recently I have learned about different ways of understanding time as 360 °, quantum physics, time & space reality which intrigues me. It is hard to digest that my 8-year-old self and my 80 year old self exist. Linear time or my day to day relationship with time and time space reality/quantum physics are seen in two squares. Red represents space-time which contains the entire history of reality, with each past, present or future event occupying a clearly determined place in it, from the very beginning and forever. The past would therefore still exist, just as the future already exists, but somewhere other than where we are now present. By extending my painting off the canvas [see installed image] I demonstrate both my inability to understand what I can produce in a predetermined amount of time in the linear construct. Also, for flow, self-acceptance & patience I have with myself. The black area in the composition is a nod to the idea of soul contracts.
