About The Artwork

As a cafe artiste, I find people, and women in cafe intriguing and pitureque. I love the cafe as a venue - life is a stage and a cafe is a perfect venue to study human condition and mood of our time. Since age 17, I've experienced countless cafes in Paris, London, Tokyo, Seoul, Washington and Honolulu and I am depicting the images of women juggling their lives with issues of relationship, marriage, careeer, motherhood, aging parents and their own meanings of life make perfect subject matters. I hope this painting reminds people to take the time for him/herself and think about life, be grateful for being alive and hang on to hope that life is beautiful. I imagine what our Impressionism masters like Renoir will see/paint if he were alive now, and how he might choose to depict the modern women of our time.
