ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Oil on linen 60x44x2cm (23.6x17.3x0.8in) 2020, ready to hang. This work of art is an oil on linen painting showing a girl and a ceramic rooster at the table. The “tired rooster” which gives the name to the painting is a ceramic work made by the master ceramists of Grottaglie, in the Italian region of Puglia. This place is renowned for the production of ceramic and it is also the birthplace of one of my teachers: Mastro Oronzo. The ceramic “tired rooster” is a piece that I have at home; one day I decided to make a painting with it and this artwork is the result. “Tired rooster” is a 60x44cm painting which is ready to hang and holds a unique certificate of authenticity.

In my paintings I focus on figures and their interaction with the landscape and architecture. After spending some years being very faithful to the samples, I am now experimenting different styles of painting and alternating portraits (mainly commissions) with sperimental artworks. Also, I am increasingly taking advantage of image editing softwares in pre-production to find the best colours and lights for the painting. I use oil colours both on wood and linen. All the materials used in the artworks are high quality, from hand primed canvas (by myself, using a classic method that prevents from aging and deterioration) to colours.
