About The Artwork

There is always a choice. The question is, are we able to see this opportunity? Every day we make choices. More often than not they are mundane and simple, but there are also heavy, important, even fateful ones. The choices a person makes, describes them the best. They vividly reflect what someone is truly like, what makes them happy, what they are going through, what they are attached to. We often forget what is most important, that we can choose how to react, how to think, what emotions to give into. Materials Used a high quality linen canvas and oil paint. I use a palette knife, instead of paintbrushes to create textures, as well as backgrounds for my paintings. Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/smalkasgleznas/

I'm from Latvia. I've been painting since I was little. For me, art is meditation, a very spiritual process. I put a piece of my soul into it. I'd like to inspire others with my work. Create feelings of happiness and harmony. In my opinion, it's quite captivating to show this through nature. I find it's colors, flowing lines and forms especially intriguing. I hope this reflects in my work. While painting, I use a palette knife, instead of paintbrushes to create textures, as well as backgrounds for my paintings. I've had 12 solo art exhibitions. Regarding my education, I have a degree in psychology and have attended art school. I am a professional artist with 17 years of experience. My secret I find it very difficult to comment on or describe my art because most of the time I find myself in a state of trance. I often don’t remember mixing colors or painting. I feel like an instrument in someone else’s hands. Every painting comes to me like a feeling, all I can do is sit there and observe. While I’m working, I often receive certain information about events that reveal themselves after some time, philosophical questions, or even quantum theory. It’s like falling into an infinite void, where everything is light, like another world.
