.. .. .. "Do Not Touch the Art" After much thought and an inconclusive Instagram poll, I toned down the title and committed it to copper metallic paint. The first working title was "Don't Touch the Fucking Art", but now I feel that the painting better expresses the tension between the viewing public who feels compelled to touch, and artists who only see a risk to their precious delicate artworks (that are no Rembrandts, by the way). The two clashing text colours bring out that conflict. For me, the urge to touch is deeply rooted in using our physical senses to find out about the world. In this painting, touching a glass shard or a pointed hook will definitely give you more knowledge of sharp edges, but i preemptively chose a red background in case you touch too much. Note: no body was used or harmed in the making of this artwork. And please remember, never touch this work of art. Keep it away from people and children and pets. Hang it securely.
