About The Artwork
Inspired by the cycle of the seasonal life of plants to create a series of photos and drawings based on magnolia pods and the space it occupies after it falls from the tree and lies on the ground for many months. I created the pod drawing on watercolor paper and used watercolor, colored pencil, graphite and ink to add color and the illusion of depth. A series of photos enabled image transfers to encourage the seasonal changes of the pod and layer texture and color for added depth. Mounted on light oak wood panel, finished with Dorland's Wax Medium for lasting protection. Hardware ready to hang on the wall.
