About The Artwork
Tree Cavity is part of series of work that talks about the trees that live along the South Fork River in Charlotte. This river is one of the most polluted in the country and the trees that have been taking in the pollutants from the river have visible scars and holes within them. I paint these trees to show the power nature has to thrive despite human interaction. There are a few thin pieces of bark adhered to the left side of this piece. On that same side, the paper has been sanded and pealed.
