About The Artwork
This is a plein air paintin of the treetop foliage as seen from a bridge near my house. (The Columbia Ave. Bridge as it crosses Rock Creek in Washington, DC) I have always been drawn to treetops, but it is unusual to have the chance to paint them from a birds eye view. This composition focuses on the silhouette of the treetops and the appearance and disappearance of the branches within it. This piece is a small 6"x8" oil painting. It is painted on an Ampersand Gessoboard panel and comes unframed.
