About The Artwork

Burt Gummer: Broke into the wrong goddamn rec room, didn't ya you bastard! Valentine McKee: [to Rhonda] GET OUT OF YOUR PANTS! Earl Bassett: Run for it? Running's not a plan! Running's what you do, once a plan fails! Earl Bassett: What kind of fuse is that? Burt Gummer: Cannon fuse Earl Bassett: What the hell do you use it for? Burt Gummer: My cannon! Valentine McKee: I can't believe we said no to free beer! [Monster slams into a concrete retaining wall] Earl Bassett: Stupid son-of-a-bitch, knocked itself cold! Valentine McKee: Cold, my ass, he's dead! We killed it. We killed it! FU--UCK! YOU! Rhonda LeBeck: I think I have a plan. Why don't we throw a bomb the way we want to go and then when it goes off, we run like goddamn bastards! [Everyone looks at her] Rhonda LeBeck: Pardon my French. Melvin Plug: Burt, you asshole! There's no bullets in this gun! Burt Gummer: Got you moving, didn't it? Burt Gummer: [handing out weapons and refusing to give Melvin one] I wouldn't give you a gun if it were World War 3. Earl Bassett: Damn it, listen to me. I'm older and wiser. Valentine McKee: Yeah, well you're half right. Valentine McKee: Roger that Burt, and congratulations. Be advised, however, that there are two more, repeat, two more motherhumpers. Earl Bassett: Dammit, Valentine! You never go for any girl unless she fits that stupid list of yours from top to bottom. Valentine McKee: Well, sure. Earl Bassett: Yeah, and it's dumber than my hind end! Like that Bobbie Lynn Dexter. Valentine McKee: Tammy Lynn Baxter! Earl Bassett: Doesn't matter. They're all the same: dead weight. "Ooh, I broke a nail!" Ugh! Makes my skin crawl. Valentine McKee: Yeah, well, I'm a victim of circumstance. Earl Bassett: I thought you called it your pecker. Rhonda LeBeck: They only respond to vibration, right? Couldn't we... distract them somehow? Valentine McKee: Yeah, something to keep 'em busy, like a... like a decoy! Miguel: Hey Melvin... wanna make a buck? Valentine McKee: Come on you two, let's go, we're headed for the mountains! Burt Gummer: [Hefts bag of weapons] If that's how we're doin it, we're going prepared! Valentine McKee: Hey - check this out! I found the ass end! Burt Gummer: What do you people got against being prepared? [Burt Gummer looks at his bomb shelter for perhaps the last time] Burt Gummer: Food for five years, a thousand gallons of gas, air filtration, water filtration, Geiger counter. Bomb shelter! Underground... God damn monsters. Earl Bassett: Is this a job for an intelligent man? Valentine McKee: Well, show me one and I'll ask him. from 'Tremors' (1990) Starring Ariana Richards ("It's a veggiesaurus Lex! Veggiesaurus!"), Reba (Reba), Fred Ward (Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult), Michael Gross (Growing Pains… I mean Family Ties.. I think, right? Definitely not Family Matters.), Finn Carter (How I Got Into College), Robert Jayne (The B.R.A.T. Patrol - Nope, wrong one - Gossett Jr.’s Iron Eagle), Tony Genaro (Heart and Souls), Victor Wong ("We take what we want and leave the rest, just like your salad bar."), and Scoutmaster Kevin Bacon (Sleepers). Written by Ron Underwood (Tremors II: Aftershocks), S.S. Wilson (Wild Wild West - You know the one.. with the giant mechanical spider.. ;) Mr. Smith.), and Brent Maddock (Short Circuit). Directed by Ron Underwood (City Slickers). Tremors is a 1990 American western-themed monster horror comedy film directed by Ron Underwood, produced by Brent Maddock, and S. S. Wilson, and written by Maddock, Wilson, and Underwood. Tremors was released by Universal Pictures and stars Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, and Reba McEntire. In the film, tired of their dull lives in the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, repairmen Val McKee (Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Ward) try to skip town. However, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist Rhonda (Carter) studying unnatural readings below the ground. With the help of eccentric survivalist couple Burt and Heather Gummer (Gross and McEntire), the group fights for survival against giant, wormlike monsters hungry for human flesh. The film is the first installment of the Tremors franchise and was followed by five direct-to-video sequels and one prequel: Tremors 2: Aftershocks (1996), Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001), Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004), Tremors 5: Bloodlines (2015), Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (2018), and Tremors: Shrieker Island (2020). A television series titled Tremors: The Series aired from March through August 2003. A second television series was set to air in 2018 after a pilot had been shot with Bacon reprising his role for the first time since the original film, but multiple networks including Syfy passed on the series. I’m (I am?) a self-taught artist, originally from the north suburbs of Chicago (also known as John Hughes' America). Born in 1984, I started painting in 2017 and began to take it somewhat seriously in 2019. I currently reside in rural Montana and live a secluded life with my three dogs - Pebbles (a.k.a. Jaws, Brandy, Fang), Bam Bam (a.k.a. Scrat, Dinki-Di, Trash Panda, Dug), and Mystique (a.k.a. Lady), and five cats - Burglekutt (a.k.a. Ghostmouse Makah), Vohnkar! (a.k.a. Storm Shadow, Grogu), Falkor (a.k.a. Moro, The Mummy's Kryptonite, Wendigo, BFC), Nibbler (a.k.a. Cobblepot), and Meegosh (a.k.a. Lenny). Part of the preface to the 'Complete Works of Emily Dickinson helps sum me up as a person and an artist: "The verses of Emily Dickinson belong emphatically to what Emerson long since called ‘the Poetry of the Portfolio,’ something produced absolutely without the thought of publication, and solely by way of expression of the writer's own mind. Such verse must inevitably forfeit whatever advantage lies in the discipline of public criticism and the enforced conformity to accepted ways. On the other hand, it may often gain something through the habit of freedom and unconventional utterance of daring thoughts. In the case of the present author, there was no choice in the matter; she must write thus, or not at all. A recluse by temperament and habit, literally spending years without settling her foot beyond the doorstep, and many more years during which her walks were strictly limited to her father's grounds, she habitually concealed her mind, like her person, from all but a few friends; and it was with great difficulty that she was persuaded to print during her lifetime, three or four poems. Yet she wrote verses in great abundance; and though brought curiosity indifferent to all conventional rules, had yet a rigorous literary standard of her own, and often altered a word many times to suit an ear which had its own tenacious fastidiousness." -Thomas Wentworth Higginson "Not bad... you say this is your first lesson?" "Yes, but my father was an *art collector*, so…"
