About The Artwork
I chose a French title which means "A little tenderness in a world of brutes... I wanted to evoke the situation in Ukraine. For this, I just took the colors of the flag of this beautiful country. However, I wanted this tribute to be discreet, so that it would not be immediately obvious and that the couple of men present would exist. Showing a gay couple to talk about this country is not neutral. Vladimir Putin is very homophobic. He uses the word Gayropa to criticize Europe's tolerance of homosexuality. He supported Ramzan Kadyrov, the Chechen president, when Kadyrov had numerous homosexuals arrested, tortured and executed in 2017. I actually made a portrait of a young man who died at that time, Zelim Bakaev. However, I always try to bring a little beauty in this often so cruel world.

I am a French plastic artist. I have been painting and sculpting since my early childhood. I studied liberal arts at Valenciennes. I started to take up the theme of tenderness between males when I was a teenager. I was in need of positive representations of homosexuality. It was difficult to obtain such images of homosexuality during that period, especially from a middle class family in the North of France. Homosexuality was still very much taboo. It is less so today. However, I love evoking on the only thing that truly matters: the love, the serenity, the togetherness, the confidence, the alterity, the pleasure of being together, and the full-blown pleasure of love.
