Under Black Stars (aka. The Barn) Painting

"Under Black Stars" is an acrylic painting using some mixed media techniques on a narrow stretched canvas measuring 9" x 12" x 5/8". This size is a standard size canvas and if desired, is easily framed. I have been wanting to work with the magnificent landscapes I witness, but in my own way. Here I begin my drawing and then a bit of paper collage on my prepared canvas. The paper collage established my main areas, and some texture. I wanted to keep my palette tight, so I chose cool hues of Blue, violet and an olive green. There are additions of gold and yellow ocher and cream poking through my paint. I danced a frisket under my acrylic, which is allowing some of my black base to show. Enjoy, "Under Black Stars". I hope to include more in this series soon. Thankfully, Mark
