About The Artwork

Abstract acrylic on gallery wrapped canvas, sides painted, no staples, with back brace, ready to exhibit. Once again I find myself leaning toward Mark Rothko. I have added my own particular slant, making this work a highly surfaced color field abstraction. This heavily layered surface abstraction, is becoming more and more my own personal language addressing abstract painting. In fact I am combining drip action painting, with color field abstraction. In this process, I drip a full monochrome composition across the canvas. After this initial layer is completely dry, I make color field choices rendering a new composition over the first surfaced layer. This effect is an engaging compositional element in a monochrome or multi-tone motif. Thank you for looking. Peace and Love.

I am an American abstract painter. Every so often I veer into expressionist figuration. As an outsider I studied the fundamentals of art, the great artists, and the influential art movements throughout history, on my own. One of my goals is to always remain outside the norm. I am heavily influenced by the Abstract Expressionists from The New York School. Inspiration also comes to me from the works of Claude Monet, Joan Mitchell and Lee Krasner as well. The outsider ideal connects with me thanks to artists such as Jean Dubuffet and Jean Michel-Basquiat. Non-comformity defines what art should be. My mission is to create engaging and innovative artworks. I hope to extend an appreciation of artistic expression to a wide audience. The painting process I employ involves acrylic and mixed media. As I paint, color and material are combined on the canvas, and I love to merge drawing with painting. Many of my original paintings are found in collections across North America, Europe, and Asia. A Certificate of Authenticity ships with each painting, along with background information about the making of the piece. All the work you see is available. Thank you for looking.
