I wanted to convey how reality intertwines with dreams. The border between sleep and reality is very fragile. Memories fade into the past, and they can no longer be distinguished from dreams. Fragments of images from childhood became the basis of this picture. My neighborhood was lined with strange houses resembling cookie boxes. It seemed that once this box collapsed. But there were windows inside the cookie box, and from them the park was visible. The park housed a pirate disc and cassette market. On weekends, I watched with curiosity how people hung out there. Despite the feeling of freedom that opened up in the early 90s after the collapse of the Soviet Union, there were still strong fears that goods might run out. This created a fuss. The ongoing movement existed, as it were, on top of the layer of the soviet cultural heritage. Everything was mixed into some kind of crazy collage with monuments of Lenin, and at the same time there were cassettes with Almodavar and Fellini films ... For many years this period remained a mystery to me, because it was difficult to consider what I was in those years, and how I perceived what was happening in the era of perestroika. With the help of this picture, many things became clear.
