About The Artwork

Hugo Travanca is inspired by the psychological perspective of his muse. He loves to say that he paints with closed eyes; the image is created solely from his visual memory. It's a way to highlight the significant limitations of our memories, especially when it comes to visual records. The viewers will observe someone in an empty space, contemplating themselves as a muse. This perspective changes the concept of the painting and gives the sensation that the figure is observing something beyond the canvas. A visual identity has been developed over the last 15 years, and all available mediums are used in the studio.
