Framed in a white floater frame.Ready to hang. This piece is from my Cobalt Collection which started out as research into the history of cobalt blue in English pottery by researching the group of refugee Potters who brought cobalt blue and other coloured glazes to the South Bank potteries where they worked. After a conversation with a potter friend I went on to research the history of cobalt pigmented objects of all kinds in the archive of the British Museum and was delighted by the way that these objects left traces of human interconnectedness and trade across place and time reaching back as far as the Phoenicians. I made a series of works named after places where there is physical evidence of this trade and intercultural exchange. This particular piece unusually geometric for me was influenced by my travels in Granada earlier in the year.
