Walter Lynn Mosley has been an artist all his life having begun to draw at age 3. From 1989 until 2000 Walter studied painting with Frank Mason at the Art Students League and then again in 2008 shortly before his death. Frank Mason has been the most influential instructor in Walter’s life. Walter has continued his studies with Thomas Torak at the League from 2008 until the present. At the League Walter has benefited as well from a year of study with Greg Kreutz (2012-13) and upon his arrival in New York City with George Passantino (1988-89). Prior to that Walter received his earliest, serious instruction in portrait painting in oil from Bob Gerbracht in San Jose, California (1984-86) and later with Maynard Stewart at San Jose State University where he recieved a BA in Fine Art. (1988).
