About The Artwork
This image captures and recreates a photograph I took, showing a view from a cafe in Bristol onto one of the city's streets. I have used a monochrome colour palette and pyrography technique to play with shadow and light, using the grain of the wood to warp architectural perspective. The seating area appears to be held up by shards and pits of light, as the pathway is suspended and disappearing into the background. Hanging fixtures come and are attached to the piece.
