About The Artwork

Acrylic on black canvass as usual. This is one of the paintings I did that are inspired by J. R. R. Tolkien book "The Silmarillion", a book that I read many times (not only because there are 2 million names in 300 pages) and that is possibly one of my favorite inspiration sources. Vinyamar was an elfic city of Beleriand, western part of the Middle Earth, and existed during the first age (until about 6000 years before the destruction of the ring). It does not appear very often in the book, but I really like the name. The painting was modelled on the basis of an existing fortress, which is Golubovac in Serbia, slightly re-built according to Tolkien description of Vinyamar.

Italian black canvas artist, born in 1985, living in Prague since 2010. The night and the city. These are the true protagonists of Tiziano Marasco’s works, which invite to self reflection about the spaces we share in silent complicit agreement. In bright white streetlights is hidden the eye of the beholder, left alone to contemplate the black carpet and the painted colours of the urban landscape.
