Currently based in Kuala Lumpur, I have journeyed across the globe over the past 30 years as an expatriate, and this life has profoundly influenced and shaped my artistic style, transcending well beyond a mere odyssey. My existence has transformed into a complete immersion in the diversity of the world, where climatic variations, foreign languages, and cultural subtleties have forged the very essence of my artistic approach. The foundations of this life demand unique adaptive systems, where the five senses play a pivotal role. The diversity of languages impedes the use of words, compelling me to explore alternative forms of communication. Careful observation of expressions and gestures has become crucial for decoding contexts, with each smile in Asia carrying different meanings than in Europe. Listening to the surrounding sounds serves as a guide, revealing everyday life and potential signals of danger. Touch, evolving with encountered cultures, transforms sometimes intrusive gestures into warm connections, while the exploration of new flavors makes taste and smell my allies, unveiling the subtleties of things while exposing their rawness. As an artist, my body translates this hypersensitivity into a rich emotional palette. I am not merely an observer but a person emotionally connected to every nuance of my life.
