This collection of artworks was born out of my love for nature and addiction to the sunsets. Bold layers of paint overlap and penetrate each other creating a loud but in the same time quiet harmony. I use metallic paint which perfectly catches and reflects the light. Showing all that drama in a very silent way. There is this fight between day and nigh. Fight that last only for a seconds but is spectacular.

Inspired by the dazzling beauty of nature, Magdalena Szmydtke creates her art by incorporating light into the surface by reconstructing her memories of colours, patterns, reflections, and sparkles. She works slowly, building up every canvas with many layers of paint, beach sand, glitter, and liquid bronze. After studying molecular biology as well as international trade at the University of Gdańsk, she contributed to several multidisciplinary projects across the globe, including art consultancy for corporate projects in the Middle East, where she married her biggest passion for art and project management experience. Exhibitions: - The Other Art Fair / October 2018 / Santa Monica, California - Fluxus Now / May, 2021 / Basilica di Sant'Ambrogio, Milan - Dialogo tra le antitesi / June 2021 / Museo Crocetti, Rome ABOUT THE ARTWORKS Light. It builds us and everything around us. It falls from the universe, shapes our surroundings, and flows through our veins. Presented artwork collection tells the never-ending tale of light passing through the day and night cycle. Those two opposing moments combine to form a whole and show all the dramatic spectacle of colours in a very silent way, linking us with what we are made of.
