Wallowing Painting

This work is autobiographical in a sense and incorporates personal motifs found throughout my pictures. The figure is wallowing by the water, as animals do, while also wallowing as humans do. I wanted a connection between human and the natural world, as the figure's tears fall into the sand feeding the pool in which her foot rests. The hands come together in the centre and the head is thrown back in what could be interpreted in a multitude of ways. I prefer to keep a sense of ambiguity in the work and leave it open for interpretation by the viewer, so I will say no more.
