About The Artwork
Based on Japanese internment in Canada. Despite hostilities between Japanese Canadians and Other Canadians during WW2., Interned Japanese Canadians regularly came together with the local population in Lillooet, British Columbia, to play baseball with one another. This painting is intended to be an historical documentation and symbolic interpretation of this unique relationship and reminder of some of the distorted visions of war.
