About The Artwork
The title of this piece refers to the moment when the muse leaves. My paintings seek to represent psychological habits and processes (as they move from the unconscious to the conscious awareness) of the artist. The background surface quality and colour are a simple reflection of mood. Warm and cold or bright and dull colours can be connected to that quality of feeling around the subject. The artist has projected their own internal judgements onto the people and relationships represented and the viewer is encouraged to do the same. By so doing, the artist and viewer may consider the crowd to be players on the stage of their own personal psychodrama. The title of the work is the name of the artist's particular psychodrama which has been understood through the act of personal investigation required to make the painting.
