This painting belongs to the captivating series titled Waves & Horizons, born from a profound experience during my journey to Northern California in October 2017. It was a time of intense wildfires in Lake County, which led to my hasty evacuation from the mountains. As I fled towards safety, a remarkable sight unfolded before my eyes, revealing the breathtaking landscapes of Northern California. Nature's awe-inspiring beauty and overwhelming power left an indelible mark on my soul. The contrasting seascapes, with their ever-shifting horizons along the Pacific Ocean, resonated deeply with the distant shores of the English Channel. The deep blue hues of North California's Pacific Ocean, adorned with misty horizons, held me captive with their sheer magnificence. There was an enigmatic quality that permeated both locations, compelling me to capture their essence without delay. The ephemeral and ethereal nature of these vistas compelled me to create, utilizing subtle textures and a carefully chosen color palette. Through my work, I aimed to convey the invisible currents of the ocean's immense strength and symbolic representation.
