About The Artwork
This painting was the initial point of a series of experimental works where I use color and double exposure to create a psychological self-portrait. I'm not trying to explain something specific, but rather to express an emotion, a mood, stemming from the quest for identity that underlies the rest of my works. I titled this series 'primordial' because it deals with a primal urge, an expressive need beyond the rational, and because my intention was to follow that urge to find the essence in my painting.
