We fear for the air around us... Painting

The title is a line from a song by Fela Kuti. I've represented a torso because it is completely depersonalised but yet houses, apart from the brain, all the major organs of the body. Air quality is rapidly diminishing, particularly in cities, but goes largely ignored, chiefly because of a reliance on and obsession with technology, however polluting. A tolerated side-effect, perhaps. But I've tried also to reflect in the painting a sense of some of the cultural pollutants that abide in corruption, routine violence, and even simply the atmospheres of fear and potential violence that attend notions of racial, ethnic and cultural differences.
