About The Artwork
This pose was very striking to me because of its forthright and challenging stance. I wanted to capture my subject's boldness and lack of fear as well as the fractal-like shapes described by the structures visible on her body. I chose vibrant near primary colors to convey the subject and her frank, confidant manner and focused on the organic shapes of the shadows cast by the light on her body. I always work in oils for their luminosity and versatility.
