About The Artwork

The painting is inspired by the rushing around it is often getting ready in the morning in a house with kids. The core of the painting is a central mother figure with legs that serves as a holder for all the action. The legs show that the figure is morning or trying to move, and the different patterns inside its body represent all the chaos and activities that take place while the figure is trying to move forward. The colors are muted as a reference to the weather: Winter. The grey references the sky and the golden-yellow / sienna is the color of the grass turned brown during the cold months. It is almost literally what I see from my window.
