About The Artwork
My work is mostly inspired by women, men and kids from Africa and the African diaspora, often from my community Kibera slum Nairobi Kenya. I include real people in my works and hears, sees and even feels their struggles. I portray them in deep reflective thought arranged in vibrant color hues using a heavier pigment. I hope viewers will be able to connect with my work, feel and interpret as per their own understanding I like using acrylics because of the vibrant colors, fast drying and their softness when blending and mixing on canvas while painting contemporary figurative art.

I am a Kibera Nairobi based artist (b.1999). As a self-taught visual artist I find myself leaning hard towards contemporary figurative paintings. My works focus on women, men and kids from Africa and the African diaspora, often from my community of kibera. I include real people I know in my works and hears, sees and even feels the struggles. I mostly portray them in deep reflective thought arranged in vibrant colored hues using a heavier pigment as I gain more and more experience. My paintings are distinctive in their use of colors and more so the roughness of my brush strokes which create the different moods I want to portray.
