ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This is an original mineral painting by contemporary artist Hong Bao. She employs minerals and vivid coloured rock paintings in her artworks; a technique found in ancient cave murals such as Mogao Caves along the Silk Road. Her subjects are poetic modern fairy tales, which illustrate the way she feels about her generation’s intersection of reality and fantasy. Some of her exhibitions include Hi21 Art Fair, Lei Sing Hong Art Gallery, Beijing (2019); Eyes, Guangdong Museum of Art, Guangzhou (2017); and Asia Contemporary Art Show, Hong Kong (2016).
