When you try to resurrect the past in all known ways, cling to it, because you don't want to accept changes. Change is unknown, so it can be painful. Therefore, it is better to freeze, to become petrified in one's beliefs and ideologies, to turn into a pillar of salt. So who are we if the past has no longer power over us? How to identify yourself? And are we able to rise higher, above ourselves, and see the bigger picture? To see ourselves as a part of all living things, as part of something grand and ubiquitous, to see not with your eyes, but to feel (there is such a vision). Only those of us who really want it, are able to.
Here's ukrainian girl in wreath (it's a part of national traditional costume), my interpretation. She's (her clothes, wreath, maybe) a symbol of past. Not as a human creature, but as way of thinking.

Artwork is covered by varnish and it's ready to hung.

Lidia Matviyenko lives and creates in Ukraine, sign her creations as Lidikart. Grew up in the Sokal city (Lviv region, Ukraine). Graduate from the Lviv National Academy of Arts (faculty of costume design). Creates graphics, illustrations, decorative paintings, digital collages and wall paintings. Lida also write intuitive texts for her artworks.  She always felt something boundless inside, the potential, she didn't know how to express. Fairy tales (she was in love with the illustrations and stories), myths and songs, made a great influence on her formation in childhood (mother's merit). One of the most interesting book was "Evil Power" (ukrainian mythology) by Vasyl Korolov-Staryj with a beautiful mermaid on cover page. Lida believed from the early childhood, that elves, fairys, mermaids and other creations exists, like other civilizations in parallels worlds or smth. She had a resonance for all this inside of her soul.  Explores psychological moments, human nature (as a deep creation), nature of her soul (core), cause-effect relationships (connections), unmanifested (Echard Tolle's term), divine, spiritual in us, the way we form our reality, and how we affect on the collective reality too. Self-knowledge and exploring of own essence, of nature of things - the most interesting reason to be here, discovered by artist by now.
