About The Artwork

Artwork based on the latter Revelation. An oil painting I planned and modeled in Maya and Zbrush, rendered and painted over on canvas for complete accuracy. An image of a bookholder on a shelf. Masked the world, sun and moon under the guise of Mars, Deimos and Phobos. The sun is richly symbolized on the bookholder itself as well as the clothing of the woman with her feet apon the moon. She sits apon a beast sporting several heads and ten horns but veiled by a tarp, and holds a golden cup in her hand. Distracting the viewer from the rich numerical symbolism of the piece, an insect with a golden crown, hair like a woman, face like a man, teeth like a lion and a tail like a scorpion is perched behind the woman, seeming to form part of the model. However, another insect with its foot on the sun/deimos makes this seem dubious. A stranger to revelation's first impression of this piece should lean towards sci-fi or fantasy and offense is unlikely, while scholars will enjoy the many facets it attempts to gauge. Is the woman who receives eagle's wings the same that sitteth apon the dragon for instance? With vibrant symbolism almost wantonly displayed, this piece should form an essential part to any collector of Biblical art, as no other so soundly confers Abaddon/Apollion in the language of the hidden mystery school of the great painters.
