About The Artwork
I was inspired to paint this after the Marchioness pleasure boat disaster, when several of my friends died. I lived on the World's End estate at the time, and saw people looking for bodies in the water on the Sunday morning after the accident. This painting was the beginning of a new style of work for me, more expressive and less figurative.
