A lovely contemporary portrait with a touch of class! From British artist Carol McDermott. Reminiscent of the 1920/30s .Sensitively painted in oil paints on wood panel known for its longevity. The yellow is more wonderfully vibrant than in the photos, the photos don’t do the painting true justice. “ I wanted to portray, not a singular person but that of an era of beauty and sensitivity”.

Originally from Newcastle upon Tyne, Carol works from her cottage in the North Pennines in the UK. She produces both abstract and representational work, generally her paintings have an underlying sense of mystery and a mystical relationship with nature. They are often intuitive and soulful. Carol says: “After painting professionally for 33 years I still find it an extremely exciting and magical process. I try to get beyond ‘expressing’ myself, to allow a creative energy straight from nature and the cosmos. Happy and joyful, concentrating on uplifting the viewer and bringing a sense of joyful energy to everyday life.” PRIVATE COLLECTIONS: Uk, USA, Australia, France, Italy, Dubai and Israel.
