About The Artwork

I love flowers but sometimes the painting of them just does not capture the actual feeling i get when I see them. This painting is a "floral" but from a different perspective. The light from my window is moving up, down and all around the flowers, creating a sense of dynamic movement and intensifying my reaction to the changing pinks and red of the blossoms. The background of the painting is varying shades and tones of blue grays. The flowers are inks and soft greens. What I find most interesting are the "drawing lines" that create sense of light surrounding the flowers, bouncing in and off the forms in a "dance" between subject and space. The painting is acrylic on a deep canvas. The edges of the canvas are painted in deep gray to complement the painting and it is ready to hang without further framing. The surface is slightly textured with brushstrokes. So what's the title about? Yes. How many times have you LOVED a work of art but your first thoughts were...well, where would I hang it? I encourage you to buy the art you love and it will fit into and enrich your life!

I was once traveling with a close friend, photographing everything in sight, as any tourist does. I asked him, "Don't you want to take any photos?" He answered, "I like to remember things in my own way." What a profound statement - and one that I take seriously when I paint. My art is about remembering things . . . in my own way . . . and "disremembering" everything else. A native of Fort Worth, Texas, my artistic career began at an early age when I began painting with my mother on Sunday afternoons. Surrounded by art books, paintings and sculpture at home, I always knew I wanted to be a painter.
