The title of this picture refers to the end of a phone conversation you might have, when you haven't really managed to say what you wanted to at all. Most of the figurative pictures I do are probably about the same things - on the surface everything seems fine, happy, light-hearted even. But there is also something rather awkward, a feeling of being out of place, or embarrassment.

Andy Joseph studied Fine Art at Bath Academy of Art in Corsham, United Kingdom, from 1981-84. He later studied Renaissance Studies at Birkbeck College, London, and Art Education at the Institute for Education, London University. He has exhibited previously at the Royal Overseas League, the Institute for Education and The Mall Galleries, London, and has work in private collections in the UK and in Europe. He currently lives in London. Most of the paintings were completed over the last two years, more recent ones incorporate words.
