About The Artwork

This is the first painting in a series of pieces that was inspired by photos of firefighters combatting the fires that raged through Yosemite right up to the cusp of the giant redwoods. Viewers should be struck by the awe inspiring size of the trees next to the tiny figure of the overwhelmed firefighter.

As an artist, my passion for color theory and my skill in creating dynamic and expressive pieces is rooted in my early training. I was fortunate to receive formal instruction in drawing at the Skokie Art Institute until the age of 12, where I honed my technical skills and learned to appreciate the power of line and form. This foundation served me well in my early years, where I went on to win numerous art competitions at school and across the suburbs of Chicago. My natural talent and dedication to my craft were recognized at a young age and continue to drive me forward in my artistic pursuits. Whether I am working with oil paint, acrylics, or other mediums, my goal is always to create pieces that are both visually striking and emotionally impactful. I believe that my early training and success in art competitions have equipped me with the skills and confidence to pursue my passion for art and color theory on a deeper level. In my work, I like to explore a range of themes that reflect my interests and concerns. Climate change, wildfires, and the impact of human activity on the natural world are recurring subjects in my pieces. I am also drawn to the beauty and diversity of flora and fauna, and I often use these subjects as a way to celebrate and protect our planet. Landscapes and seascapes also play a prominent role in my work, as I am inspired by the way that light and color can be used to create a sense of place and atmosphere. Finally, I also enjoy painting portraits of my pets, as they provide a personal and intimate connection to my subjects. Through my art, I hope to raise awareness about the issues that I am passionate about, while also sharing my love of the natural world and the creatures that inhabit it. In addition to my interest in the natural world and environmental issues, I also have a passion for exploring abstract themes. One area of particular interest to me is particle colliders and atom smashers, and the chaotic signals created by the Large Hadron Collider at CERN. I am fascinated by the intersection of science and art, and I enjoy using my art as a way to visualize the complex and often unseen processes that occur at the subatomic level. My abstract pieces often reflect my interest in the patterns and structures that exist in the universe, and I use a combination of color, form, and texture to create dynamic and visually stimulating works.
