About The Artwork
∆ Completed almost a decade ago but offering it online for the first time, this was one of my early "from a dream" pieces. The last impression of the dream was of a man reaching towards something unnameable. Waking up, I started on capturing the reaching man, then everything else followed: the drilling, the climbing and peering, the popping out of various heads representing various modes of thought. One other part that came directly from the dream is the squarish section in the lower right - a cart with a view from inside a bowling alley bar peering out of the swinging doors labeled ENTER and EXIT. The atmosphere and feel of the dream was a sort of precariously balanced thin reality, mixed with deep contemplation. The black frame running around the outside is part of the work, and was custom-made immediately after completion. ∆
