Marjolijn is a photo stylist as well as a painter. On photo productions and on canvas she is always trying to capture the ambiance truly. Emotion to her is essential. The image should move us, seduce us, make us happy or perhaps even confuse us. In her work as a painter, motifs, color and depth play an important role. By the alternation of flat and three-dimensional, organic and geometric, and dark and light colors, she creates an interesting tension. Some of her paintings consist of several layers. For example with added gold leaf for a beautiful gloss, inspired by the work of Klimt. Or newspaper chops to emphasize the everyday. Marjolijn began her career in finance, but her love for shapes, motifs, images, colors and materials proved to be too strong. After various trainings and courses she began her creative career as a stylist at a sewing and embroidery magazine, then to move up to an international photo stylist for a wedding glossy. Nowadays she splits time between photo styling and painting.
