About The Artwork
This painting is based on a photograph I did in a couple of poses for a commissioned work. It turned out, this pose represents a time in my life, when I was not able to use my right arm in a proper way following a spine injury. The left arm and hand are visible, the right "wing" is out of sight. The wide angle contortion and the top view angle follows the contemporary "selfie" perspective. This is version 3 of 3 different approaches to the motive, painted in oils, framed with a tiny wooden grey frame.

Bernd Vonau was born in 1968 in Germany. Drawing was a passion from early childhood and led to the desire to become a graphic designer. Aged 17 Bernd Vonau entered a private design school, where he was selected as one of the first to earn a scholarship. Early works include grafitti for clients in germany. In 1999 "ateliervonau" was beginning to work for international clients in all creative areas. Later in his career approaching photography, he was able to sell his conceptional images to Canon Canada, Sueddeutsche Zeitung, Geo Magazine and others. From 2013 Bernd Vonau got into painting and now has a strong focus on the freedom of canvas work.
