My Art is a balance between the anonymity of life, the disappointments and defeats versus immense joy and happiness. My favourite techniques are oil painting and temper. I love using pigments and natural minerals. The colours with the variations they create and my own personal view and interpretation of the subject are the two keys elementary principals that give life to my creative process. I enjoy experimenting painting on different materials. The effects of light and shadow I create are my expression of freedom and hope. I am fascinated by the realism and impressionism and by their symbolic and mystic side. My canvas are populated by a set of lines, curves and colours that come together and move apart and they translate into the canvas the many social issues that surround us today. I was born in 1972 in Romania where I spent the years of my childhood and adolescence, in an era cold and deprived of freedom of expression. As a child I harboured within myself a passion for the arts. I participated frequently in various competitions of watercolor painting and drawing, but in those days, the only time we were allowed to use our imagination and skills was on patriotism. To run away from reality I often found myself contemplating the horizon and imagining myself projected in a world surrounded by colour, music, hopes and joys,. Among other things, I developed an interest on ballroom dancing, another fascinating way to convey my passion for the arts through movement, colour, design and music. In 1990 I got a scientific degree at the "School of Natural Sciences Zinca Golescu" and subsequently a diploma from the Popular School of Art where I specialized in choreography and ballroom dancing followed by a carrier full of professional achievements in teaching dance enjoying myself designing and creating dance costumes. As it often happens, life is made of choices and I found myself at one point where I had to give up my job but, having always had an enterprising spirit and wanting to find other ways to express myself , I decided to move abroad. In 1994 I moved to Italy where I gave birth to my two children. It was precisely in the year 1996, when I was expecting my first child that I started again to follow my passion for painting. Being part of the Orthodox religious community in Reggio Calabria, I developed a love for the 'Orthodox iconography”.
