About The Artwork
acrylic ink on canvas inspired by the wild and breathtaking seascapes of the south ayrshire coast of west scotland. i spend a lot of time on the beach with my husky, in all weathers. waves crashing on the rough rocks, the spray, the muted tones of winter, and vibrancy of summer colour, melt into the bright quartz and sandstone coloured beaches. this ink work looks to the sky through the waves. the ink bleeds the colours, merging in places, and staining in others to create balance and interest in the scene. i like to experiment with surfaces and chose wood-framed canvas rather than paper to portray the roughness of a sea storm.
