About The Artwork

How to transcend our presence, here and today. Trivially, how can we not (re) consider our existence in everyday practice. Us and what surrounds us. My work is interested in the relationship between the Body and the Space it inhabits; from the way our body inhabits the world, how it relates to it and how this relationship is modeled on changing moods and subjective, as well as collective, perceptions. It is an exemplary moment, a stay between inside and outside, in a space delimited in space. The density of the void that surrounds the shapes of my canvases is the shape of those interior landscapes, those "wastelands" that are always on the border between the inside and the outside. Figures always in tension, on the threshold, in power. Support preparation is an essential part of my job. I prepare the canvases myself, often sewing each piece of fabric together, also using the recycling of different materials. In the same way I work the space of the canvas, whose material and composite surface must render the complexity of reality. In a square space, fixed and stable, the figures stand out, crossing different planes and materials. I like to look at my paintings as theatrical scenes, in the center of which I tend to concentrate the human figure, often depicted in apparent solitude. I focus on the way the body inhabits the canvas, which makes me challenge its own ontology: is the body (like the canvas) a place of potential or a cage? Is it one of the means of communication or an obstacle to inner expression?
