The image of a woman playing tennis against a Tennis Ball Machine on the famous Portuguese style sidewalks of Rio de Janeiro, separated not only by a tennis net but also by three distinctive canvas frames, reflects on the uncertainty of the Brazilian economy and the turbulence in Brazilian politics at the moment. The title Cláudia, refers to Cláudia Cruz, the wife of Brazil's President of the Chamber of Deputies Eduardo Cunha (a position similar to the U.S. House Speaker), who paid over 50K in tennis lessons in Florida with money believed to have been embezzled from shady deals that resulted in a scandal known as "Car Wash Operation". The net and the three panels represent the class divisions. The "wounds" on the ground refer not only to the disrepair of the sidewalks in poor neighborhoods but also to lack of access to basic needs such as healthcare and education. Claudia, by playing tennis with a machine, represents the lack of touch that the super rich have about the conditions of the super poor.
