About The Artwork

‘HOLS’ As the sunsets, it leaves a misty warm haze across the sea and landscape. Mountains and rocks appear to melt into the sky, and to the right storm clouds approach. Father and son stroll across the shoreline making more great memories together... basking in the Sun and all its glory! Original artwork Width: 76 cm Height: 56 cm Original Artwork frame(outside edge) Width: 89.5 cm Height: 69.5 cm Depth: 4 cm The original artwork consists of mixed media on plywood board with a handmade softwood frame. Starting with a base coat of household white primer, then applying various shades of orange acrylic and gloss paint. After drying flat for several days, then adding the figurative work, waves and highlights which are mainly gouache, acrylic, and metal paint. Finally after drying for several weeks, two thick coats of clear yacht varnish was applied to the surface of the painting and three different coloured coats of wood stain and two coats of yacht varnish were added to the frame to give it depth of colour. Over time due to atmospheric conditions some slight blistering has appeared in the varnish on the surface of the painting, this all adds to the hand made charm and character of the work. ‘Ready to hang’ Please note: All measurements are approximate, Medium and materials used are for the original artwork only(not prints).

Clay in one hand and paintbrush in the other, it’s all about the love of creation, passion and diversity. I was born in Merseyside in the 70's, moving as a baby, with my family to Birmingham, England, where I was raised and still live today. From an early age I’ve had a natural ability to paint, draw, sculpt and upcycle. I am passionate about it and the whole creative process of making the viewer feel, igniting their imagination and creating something that is the best it can possibly be; beautiful detailed works of art.
